Autism Speaks is proudly evolving its Community Walk by introducing the newly redesigned “Field Day for All” in 12 cities nationwide, including Austin. This exciting event will bring together local organizations to provide critical funds, resources, and support services, helping to make a lasting impact where they are needed most. By partnering with various community groups, the event will play a pivotal role in enhancing access to valuable services for the local autism community.
The Field Day for All events will offer a full day of fun, with activities designed to meet the diverse needs of individuals across the autism spectrum. Local organizations will join forces to provide a variety of interactive games, educational workshops, and sensory-friendly experiences, ensuring that every participant feels included, valued, and connected. “Field Day for All” is not just an event—it’s a celebration of the diversity and strengths within the autism community.
Autism Speaks is committed to building the largest, most comprehensive resource hub for individuals with autism and their families. With Field Day for All, the organization is bringing these resources directly to the community, creating a one-stop shop for information and support. Families attending the event will have the opportunity to engage with local organizations, service providers, and employment resources all in one centralized location. This event ensures that individuals and families in the autism community can easily access the critical services they need, all without leaving their neighborhood.
One of the unique aspects of Field Day for All is its collaborative fundraising model. Participating organizations will be able to raise funds for their causes while also building awareness and community support. Autism Speaks is committed to empowering these local groups by covering the overhead costs associated with the event, which means that 70% of the funds raised will go directly to the participating organizations. This model helps eliminate barriers for smaller groups that may struggle to host fundraising events on their own, providing them with the resources they need to continue their important work.
The upcoming Field Day for All event in Austin will take place on Saturday, November 16th, at the Circuit of the Americas, from 10 AM to 2 PM. This event will feature a variety of fun and engaging activities for individuals of all ages and abilities. Confirmed attractions include inflatable games, food trucks, a balloon artist, face painting, and much more. Autism Speaks Texas representatives will be on hand, along with local community members and advocates, including Eileen Lamb, Director of Social Media and Influencer Marketing at Autism Speaks, and Annette Addo-Yobo, Miss Texas.
